"Kintsugi" is one of traditional techniques of pottery restoration. People in Kanazawa has a sense of value creation even out of broken tablewares- glue broken pieces with lacquer and put gold on top of repaired parts. This dessert plate was made from fragmented pieces of World famous Kutani-ware which could be wasted - sharp edges were carefully polished and re-burned to be reborned. It shows how the golden jelly representing kintsugi can pass values on to the future and give birth to the broken tableware again.
