From a historical standpoint, most acoustic instruments use soundboards referred to as flat top structures with thinly processed solid wood boards or archtop structures that are thinly cut in an arch and the sound direction is determined by how sound hole is designed to let the sound out. This sound hole itself is one of symbolic features of acoustic guitars and sound quality is affected by vibration transmits and sound reflections.
With full knowledge of those conventional and traditional structure of guitars, we started our own R&D to create specific acoustic effects from the scratch. We thought hight-gap from flat top would secure bigger inner space to let sound pressure escape so that more dimensional unique acoustic sound effects can be created.
Our soundboard has an insertion of a slit-groove in a thin veneer, " flex" of the material aims to secure more space, and utilizing the "gapped structure" to create ideal soundhole. This gapped top hollow structure is one of symbolic designs of us and this is a flagship model of Singular.

The body was made with vulcanized fiber that is usually used for welded surfaces and protective suit for Kendo. With Singular's original "gap structure," it successfully deliver different expressions from woods materials and represent an exceptional individuality in a perfect balance with quality acoustic sound. Japanese Washi paper like texture was added by natural glass coating which gives warmth when your body touch it. Our aim of design was to increase affinity between a player and an instrument.
